Asian Spicy Chicken Tacos | Recipe

November 1, 2019 by Kimlai Yingling

Everyone knows when you’re craving something you have to give in to that craving even if it’s just a bite or else you’ll be craving it again and again and again. I had a craving for chicken tacos and I didn’t give in. But I ordered some goodies from a local food delivery service (ground chicken, green onions, cilantro, limes, black beans and corn tortillas) to be prepared in case the craving came back. I’ve never had fresh sprouted corn tortillas and I was really excited to try them. I’ll tell you this they smelled really good. Fast forward….they tasted so so good. Back to the present, as I expected when I didn’t give into my chicken taco cravings I had earlier like clockwork I started craving chicken tacos again but this time my cravings were a bit elevated and now I wanted Asian spicy chicken tacos.

I started playing around with Asian ingredients and the outcome was spicy delicious goodness. Hoisin sauce, ginger, garlic, crushed red pepper and chili garlic sauce. OH YEEEEEH!!!! I was so happy with the outcome AND my body was super happy because the tacos were healthy and the flavor was so good because of spices and fresh vegetables not taco bell packets. Check out the recipe and see for yourself. Also, let me know what your favorite hot sauce is in the comments below. Happy Eating!

tacos
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp fresh pepper
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 packet corn tortillas
  • green onion
  • Lime
  • Cilantro
  • Chile Garlic Sauce
Instructions
  1. Put a tbsp of olive oil into a pan and heat up the pan on the stove. Slice up the yellow bell pepper into strips. Put into the saucepan. After the pepper strips become soft and charred take them off the stove and put into a bowl and set aside.
  2. Put a bit more olive oil into the same saucepan and put it on medium. Once the oil warms up add the ground chicken. In a separate bowl mix all the spices then add the spices to the chicken. Then add the hoisin sauce. Stir the chicken up real well and let it cook until the chicken is cooked.
  3. Warm up tortillas over an open flame. If you don't have an open flame you can heat them up in a warm skillet.
  4. Time to put your tacos together. Add a scoop of the chicken meat mix, then some yellow peppers, top with green onions and cilantro. Squeeze some lime and add the chili garlic sauce.
