Each year the Walk with Sally organization creates an unforgettable night filled with delicious local food & decadent dessert vendors, drinks and entertainment called “White Light White Night”. It is a full on production. I had the opportunity to attend this worthwhile cause, which totally captured the essence of what the organization stands for. Walk with Sally provides free mentoring support and services to children coping with either a parent or sibling battling cancer.
As we approached the event and walked around the corner we were met with a sea of over a 1000 people dressed in white. The food vendors, drink vendors and dessert vendors were all under white tents. All the tables were lined with white tablecloths. The entertainment stage was white covered with a ginormous white awning. My friend said, “I feel like we just walked into heaven.”
The event schedule was jam packed from the moment we got there until we left, which at some point we did loose a little track of time. There was a silent auction, plenty of food to try and an exciting live auction to start the night off. Patron Tequila was clearly one of the nights big sponsors with two really large booths equipped with delicious cocktails, a dj booth and their very own muddle station, with the prize being a personalized engraved steel muddler. The only catch was, you had to muddle your own drink and learn to make a tequila mojito. Totally worth it.
The welcome/opening speech by Walk with Sally founder, Nick was extremely touching and brought you right back to realizing why you were there and what you were supporting. There was a tear jerking children’s group performance (tear jerking because it was so beautiful) and then the night went out with the group Berlin. I would highly recommend making it a point to attend this event next year. It’s a worthwhile cause that everyone can relate to.
