VIETNAMESE COFFEE RECIPE
Ca phe sua da
When I was little I used to love sneaking sips of my moms delicious Vietnamese coffee off the kitchen counter when she wasn’t looking. I was drinking a big girl drink!!! MMMMM!~
Ingredients:
4 cups water (1 tbls coffee to 1 cup water (6 oz.) ratio)
1/2 cup dark roast ground coffee beans (my mom likes to use Cafe Ong Tho
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
16 ice cubes
Pour the condensed milk in to the glass and brew the coffee right on top of the condensed milk. Have a tall glass filled with ice standing by. Once the coffee has filtered through pour the condensed milk and coffee over the tall glass with ice. It makes a really pretty presentation both while it’s in the brewing process and when it’s being served.
WHAT IS VIETNAMESE COFFEE? Ca phe sua da (VIETNAMESE COFFEE) is made with finely ground Vietnamese-grown dark roast coffee individually brewed with a small metal Vietnamese drip filter (cà phê phin) into a cup containing about a quarter to a half as much sweetened condensed milk, stirred and poured over ice.
