Lights! Cameras! Action! THE TASTE is back for another massive fun filled foodie packed weekend at Paramount Studios. The weekend is loaded with sample bites from over 40+ LA restaurants along with handfuls of alcohol vendors that will be whipping up creative cocktails to keep you buzzed all day and a ton of cooking seminars by your favorite rock star chefs that are scheduled throughout the day, both days. Whew! This festival is unlike any other festival. It’s organized. It’s fun. It’s delicious. Did I mention it’s super fun? It’s laid out well. There are strategically placed garbage cans (you’ll know what I’m talking about when you can’t find one) and there’s plenty of seating and high top tables.
Opening night will kick off with familiar names, Jennifer Harris, Noelle Carter, Amy Scattergood and Jonathan Gold. It’s the perfect opportunity to mingle with the LA Times food crew and catch some of your favorite chefs and mixologists before the weekend Hunger games begin.

Saturday and Sunday are the bread and butter. Saturdays “Field to Fork” starts at 12pm and goes until 3pm. There will be a little break in between than the evening festivities called “Dinner with a Twist” gets going at 7:30pm until 10:30pm. Make sure to check the schedule and strategize. There’s lots to do, lots to eat and lots to drink.
Sunday’s event “Sunday Block Party” starts again at 12pm and goes until 3pm. Then you must come back, obvi for the finale-closing event “Flavors of LA” which will get under way at 7:30pm and go until 10:30pm. It’s a party!
You can check out the entire list of chefs, panels, demonstrations, and mixologist here and purchase tickets to one of the events or all of them.
This is hnds down one of my favorite food festivals that I look forward to every year. The party like atmosphere draws in all ages and everyone is so friendly and accommodating. It’s a great way to learn new culinary tricks, try out new restaurants and get some great cocktail ideas while rubbing elbows with celebrity chefs. Make it a date. Make it a girl’s weekend. Just get there! A few tips…bring a little fold up bag to carry any goodies you pick up during your visit, bring a little hand held fan (it gets super hot) or umbrella and definitely slather on the sun block and don’t forget your deodorant.
See you there!
