It’s finally happening, the mouthwatering moment we’ve all been waiting for. The Halal Guys are opening up shop in the heart of Ktown. With two other locations in Costa Mesa and Long Beach this has been a much-anticipated opening for Angelenos. The Halal Guys got their start in Midtown Manhattan offering combo platters of chicken and beef, gyros, falafels, hummus and their famous white & red sauce from their cart on 53rd & 6th. When they say how about a lotta white and little red, take it!
The corner restaurant pulls in a ton of natural light thanks to two walls of floor to ceiling windows (great for food pics), there’s plenty of diner style seating, brushed metal aesthetics with signature red and yellow colors.
It takes a village and it’s an assembly line of pure Halal goodness. I highly recommend the combo platter with a lotta white and a little red sauce. Make sure to stir it all up because at the bottom of the platter is delicious orange colored rice. It’s special and the recipe is a secret, which just made me like it even more. Grab some hummus with extra pita (it melts in your mouth) and a slice of baklava.
The Halal Guys will open their doors to the public Friday July 8th at 11am. The first 1000 customers will receive Halal Guys swag and 5 lucky winners get to eat Halal Guys free for a month. This opening is like the day after Thanksgiving when you camp out at your favorite location at 6am to get all the good deals.
If the media preview is any indication of how busy this crew is gonna get you can rest assure that the hours will accommodate anyone’s busy schedule. They’ll keep their doors open until 4am, which everyone is super stoked about.
This restaurant is in such a great location. There’s tons of street parking, take note of street cleaning Wednesdays from 10-1pm and a pretty large parking garage in the back off of Mariposa. At this time the restaurant is not able to validate.
Get ready & Go hungry.
