This recipe has one ingredient…..GARLIC. I often times forget how simple it is to make something so ridiculously tasty. I thought I’d go ahead and share the love and put the DIY here so I (along with you) can be constantly reminded how delicious, simple and versatile roasted garlic can be. All you need is a bunch of garlic bulbs.
You want to start off with good looking garlic bulbs. Pick garlic bulbs that still have the outer skin intact. Nothing mushy, discolored or super light in weight. Bulbs should definitely be firm.
Rub the bulbs between both hands and the thin outer layer of paper will come right off
Cut off about 1/4 inch at the top. Just enough that the tip is cut from each piece of garlic
Grab some aluminum foil and a baking sheet. Place the bulbs on the aluminum foil and drizzle your favorite oil on top. I’m using a grapeseed oil that was infused with herbs.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Wrap em up and place the baking sheet in the oven for 50 minutes.
Wallah!!!! You’re house should have already started to smell like a garlic candle about 20 minutes in. Stop trying to lick the air!
The garlic cloves will pop right out. Be super gentle because the cloves are as soft as room temp butter.
Look how easily the roasted garlic spreads onto the toasted pita wedge. I’ve been tossing a few roasted garlic cloves into my skillet before I make eggs and just mixing it with the oil. But you can also use them to flavor up potatoes, add a few cloves to your slice of beef, rub it on a chicken breast, add it to mac and cheese or grilled cheese, add it to a veggie stir fry, ohhh spaghetti sauce….dang, garlic goes with so much.
