This week I’m checking out a new product from Hapa Foods called Mochi Taro Pancake and Baking Mix. It’s made from rice flour, tapioca flour, Hawaiian taro powder and comes in a super cute resealable bag. All you need to do is add eggs, water and butter. Because the mix is made from rice flour it’s a great alternative for people that need to cut back on gluten.
I was a guest on Chef Katie Chins facebook live where Hapa Food creator, Jason Kim was on hand with his mixes and we made Taro Mochi Pancakes, which were delicious btw. Super fragrant and really moist. Found out with a few tweaks I could make cookies. So this week we’re making Taro Mochi cookies on Chomp On This. The cookies are like mini pancakes and really soft. I always have people asking me for gluten-free sweet options that taste good. This premade mix is super easy to whip up, smells wonderful, tastes good and will curb the sweet tooth. Since I don’t have a sweet tooth I’m hoping they come out with a baking mix with no added sugar. Make my dreams come true Mochi Boy! LOL!
