Let’s Get Hatched! I was back at KTLA for a Hatch Chile recipe round-up which was the perfect way to wind down the Hatch Chile Season.
The season for these super-popular chiles is really short. Hatch Valley, New Mexico produces the most popular pepper in the world and they are ready for harvest in August and September. Most Hatch consumers will purchases 25lbs -50lbs at a time, roast them and freeze them so they can have the Hatch year-round. The little town of Hatch goes from 1600 people to 30,000 during the Hatch Festival held every year on Labor Day Weekend. Consumers are pretty serious about their Hatch Chiles.
