“No bake” recipes doesn’t always equal satisfaction when you have an insane sugar craving. More times than not I’ve had a sugar craving, whipped up a batch of a no bake recipe I found online, fast forward to not satisfying my craving which results in eating more of something else that I didn’t even want to begin with and then ended up feeling like what a really big campfire marshmallow looks like. Whew! that was a rant. BUT these chocolate balls are really really satisfying. FOR REAL!!!! These little balls pack a ton of flavor. They are sweet, chocolatey, homemade and have just the right balance of salty and sweet plus they are ready to eat in 20 minutes.
Let’s get cooking. In a sauce pan add the following ingredients and bring to a soft boil. Make sure to stick around and stir.
1/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
2 tbsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp almond milk
Take it off the stove and mix in 1 cup of oats, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 tsp. cha cha cha chia seeds and 1/2 cup of coconut flakes. You could actually just pass out spoons at this point and everybody could dig in but let’s just see it all the way through. 🤗
Now this is more like it.
I like to use a mini scooper to make my balls so everything is consistent in size. Just scoop out the mix onto the wax paper. They are going to be soft and you’ll need to give them just a bit of time to harden up. You can mold them into perfect little balls.
While the chocolate balls are setting I like to add a pinch of course sea salt to the tippy tops for a little bit of crunch.
I love the hint of salt and I really like the visual of the white salt crystals on top of milky colored chocolate balls. It really does make a pretty presentation.
Bam! 💥. They only need about 20 minutes to harden up. You can use them as a topper on vanilla ice cream or use them as a side garnish for coffee or hot cocoa or put them all in a pretty bowl and serve as a delicious one bite sweet treat for friends and family OR just eat them all yourself.
