NEW LOCATION ALERT : Danny Trejo does it again with another Trejos Cantina opening, this time in Pasadena, CA. The opening comes just months after his last successful Trejos Cantina opening in Hollywood.

The new location on El Molina Ave is gorgeous and has so much character! The bar has plenty of seating, lots of windows overlooking El Molina Ave and really great light. The kitchen is tucked away behind the main restaurant which feels cozy and romantic but separate from the hustle and bustle that goes on in the kitchen.

There were four standout tacos featured during the private media event. The steak asada, the roasted cauliflower, carnitas with grilled pineapple and the the pulled beef brisket. My favorite of the four was hands down the brisket, of course followed by one of their delicious margaritas. There’s also a date sweetened horchata which is really refreshing and not overly saturated with cinnamon.

There’s a ton of Mexican fare options available, full plate meals, rice bowls, burritos and salads, oh and don’t forget to order some fresh homemade churros. The chocolate sauce and right out of the oven churros is heavenly. For the full menu click here.
