The folks over at BlackMask spill the beans with EatinAsian
The summer was filled was lots of really fun food and drink festivals. The festivals offer a great opportunity not only for the vendor to push their product but for the festival goer to get acquainted with new products in the food and drink scene. The vendors have an opportunity to unleash their creativity with their space to promote their product and some were definitely more memorable than others. The folks at BlackMask basically threw a party. The crew was fun, they were dressed like sexy tribal people, there was flame throwers and there was delicious rum mixed drinks showcasing the diversity of BlackMask rum. You could even take pictures with this sexy bunch in front of the BlackMask step and repeat. Their out of the box bar set up was very impressive and everything was tribal themed all the way down to the leather necklaces they were giving away.
The product was colorful, fun and tasty so a Q&A was absolutely necessary. Enjoy!
EA : What was the inspiration for the creation of BlackMask spiced rum?
BM : The inspiration for the brand was BlackMask himself…a Pacific Island tribal medicine man. He brings a cool, mysteriously exotic and hedonistic character to the brand. He reflects an attitude and lifestyle our target consumer aspires to.
EA : What spices will I taste in the BlackMask line?
BM : You’ll get vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg…and rich dark fruit.
EA : What makes this spiced rum standout from other spiced rums on the market?
BM : Product quality – contains a proportion of aged rum – and we use all natural flavors. This is a Pacific Spiced rum to offer something different amongst the cluttered Caribbean rum segment.
EA : Is BlackMask rum good for cooking?
BM : BlackMask wasn’t developed to be cooked.
SIDE NOTE : EA had a dinner party over the weekend and we used the BlackMask spiced rum to make a creamy hot rum sauce to pour over our fancy apple pie. DELICIOUS!!!!
EA : Is there a fan favorite recipe for the spiced rum?
BM : A fan favorite is the Tropical Chai with ginger beer…wow!
