The Ginger Pom Pom | Cocktail Recipe

January 13, 2018 by Kimlai Yingling

It’s Santa Monica Restaurant Week and this year the focus is on healthy dishes and cocktails that feature the vitamin packed pomegranate. As part of our media preview, we kicked off our Santa Monica tour with a stop at The Gourmandise School of Cooking. If you are interested in taking your cooking skills to the next level I would check out some of the courses they offer (just click on the link above). We stopped at the school so we could learn how to make a few yummy recipes that included the pomegranate.

Who doesn’t love those little bits of crunchy juice poppin fruits? I was so glad that the school already took out all the little seeds for us because seriously, that’s some work right there. Our recipes included a salad and a cocktail. Now, the salad was really tasty and I’ll post that recipe later but the highlight was the super loaded vodka pomegranate cocktail.

It was very strong. It was packed with apples (another really healthy fruit). And included ginger beer. It was the perfect mix of everything our body needs or technically it was a chaser to the kale & spinach salad we ate beforehand. I wanted to share the cocktail recipe with you guys. You can obviously play around with the vodka ratio and I recommend letting the drink chill for a bit before serving. Cheers to a healthy 2018.
